Anomaly in the Law for 17 year olds at Police Stations May Change Today

The High Court will rule later today on whether or not 17 year olds will be entitled to have a parent or guardian to assist them as an appropriate adult if they are arrested at a police station.

There is currently an anomaly in the law which means that 17 year olds are treated as 'adults' at the police station but 'youths' at court.
