Be Careful What You Tweet...The Perils of Posting on Twitter and Facebook

You may have read in the press over the weekend that a man who posted a message on Twitter joking that he intended to blow a UK airport "sky high" has now won an appeal against his earlier conviction.

Paul Chambers was originally convicted in May 2011 of sending a "menacing communication" on Twitter. However the Court has now overturned his conviction concluding that there was no evidence found to be ‘menacing’ or ‘alarming’. The ‘tweet’ only came to light some days later when the duty manager responsible for security at Robin Hood Airport read it at home whilst of duty.

The moral of the story is be careful what you ‘tweet’ or post on Facebook.  You never know who is reading your comments!
