Bumper Sums Raised at Lanyon Bowdler's Latest Dress Down Day

It’s getting a bit competitive at Lanyon Bowdler.  Having been outshone by the Oswestry office at the dress down day in June, all offices set the bar high last week for the latest event.

Cakes were baked, a hamper was stuffed, books and sundries were sold, and a raffle was held.  Each office added up the proceeds of their activities at the end of the day.  I am delighted to report that the staggering sum of £760 was raised!  The largest office, which is based in Shrewsbury, raised nearly £300 – but Oswestry, who have to remain office champions, were not far behind with just over £200.

Without a doubt it’s the staff at Lanyon Bowdler that drive the firm’s charitable efforts.  Our charity committee is made up from representatives from each of the offices located in Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Oswestry, Telford & Wellington, and it meets several times a year in order to consider what to do next.

This year’s chosen charities are Severndale Specialist School and Club 2000

Severndale Specialist School is located on the Monkmoor Campus in Shrewsbury; the school caters for children from two and a half to 19 who have varying degrees of learning difficulties.

Club 2000 is a sports and leisure club for people with disabilities, including learning disabilities.  The club meets each Thursday at Madeley Court Sports Centre.

The photos below include a selection of the cakes that were sold (the pretty chocolate one was baked by the senior partner - apparently!), plus the rather ‘Christmassy’ hamper.  Tickets for the hamper were sold at 50p each and these went into a bucket from which the winner was drawn – this alone raised £71!
