Compulsory Dog Insurance - Update

No sooner than they announce a compulsory insurance, they change their minds!  Karen Clarke once again helps me out!

Following on from the recent blog Dangerous Dogs Karen tells me that she is disappointed to note just one week after the Government had announced a compulsory insurance on dogs, they have now ruled it out on the basis that they “did not want to penalise responsible owners”.  Karen reminds us that there are a staggering 200,000 dog bites in the UK each year, often leaving the victim with permanent physical and psychological scarring.

A final thought - responsible owners of dogs would not be held responsible, because responsible dog owners ensure their dogs are kept under sufficient control, so as to avoid causing anyone any injury.  In fact, many dog owners are concerned that there are a small minority of individuals mistreating dogs which can often result in the dog turning vicious.
