Dementia Friends Training

The Private Client team at Lanyon Bowdler’s office Shrewsbury is preparing for their “Dementia Friends” training, which will take place later this month, with a view to sessions at our other offices in the near future.

Dementia Friends is an initiative by The Alzheimer’s Society and David Latcham from The Alzheimer’s Society will be attending our offices to provide training to members of our Private Client team and reception staff on this important subject.

According to The Alzheimer’s Society, “Dementia Friends is about learning more about dementia and the small ways you can help… a Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action”.

We look forward to an informative session with David and hope that our new understanding will help us in our day-to-day dealings with sufferers of dementia and their families.

Cupcake day

The Private Client team are also planning to support The Alzheimer’s Society by taking part in their Cupcake Day on 15th June. The team will be making cakes to sell to other members of the firm to raise funds for this important charity.

Lanyon Bowdler are also delighted to be supporting a team of women who will be cycling and walking 450 miles across three countries in eight days to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society and Dementia UK as well as raising awareness.

This has been organised by Virginia Bailey, whose team is supported by Unforgettable. You can follow Virginia’s journey through Facebook @stRIDE17, Twitter and Instagram @stRIDE_17 and YouTube stRIDE17
