I'm on the Judging Panel of Young Ludlow's Got Talent

Earlier this month auditions took place for Young Ludlow’s Got Talent, a talent competition organised by Ludlow Rotary club in conjunction with students of Ludlow College. The event is supported by Lanyon Bowdler and I was delighted to be able to lend my support by sitting on the judging panel.

By day I am a solicitor but I have always had a love of performing and have taken part in lots of amateur productions and dance shows. I must admit however that sitting on the panel I felt a little under qualified, I was joined by a dance and singing coach, a talent agent and a professional actor who has starred in the West End! Having attended many auditions myself I was familiar with the format of the day but found it very strange being on the other side of the judging desk.

Throughout the Saturday we saw 22 acts of singers, musicians and dancers with a further 17 to follow on Sunday. I was absolutely blown away by each and every act’s talent and confidence. Our scores were based on talent, costumes and originality, and we provided encouraging feedback to each act. I was hugely impressed by each and every act and deciding who should go through was a very difficult task.

Unfortunately I was unable to attend the final day of auditions due to rehearsal commitments for a show I was performing in myself, but if Saturday’s acts were anything to go by, I am sure the final 18 that made it through to the final will be fantastic.

I can’t wait for the live final at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on Saturday 20th April when I will again be sitting on the judging panel and helping to deciding the ultimate winner.
