Inaugural Net-walking Lunch Receives Glowing Report

Despite the forecast of lashing rain and gale force winds, last Friday was a perfect sunny autumnal day for our inaugural “netwalking lunch”.

Louise Howard and I were to meet our fellow walkers in the Quarry in Shrewsbury, rendezvousing at Neptune’s feet. It was the first networking event I had been to i.e. outside and walking, and I have to say I was extremely impressed. Not only was it a great opportunity to meet, and chat informally to some really interesting people, in a slightly less formal environment than the usual business breakfast meets but the walk itself was through the Quarry and along the river, with a backdrop of trees in spectacular colour, making it very “season of mists and mellow fruitfulness”.

It was an ideal opportunity to network, enjoy the fresh air, get some exercise and then come back to the office feeling so much more refreshed and ready to face my desk…and some restorative tea! It is certainly something Louise and I will be spreading the word on.
