Llanfyllin Careers Day

Lanyon Bowdler staff have once again represented the legal profession at Llanfyllin High School Careers Convention which took place on Wednesday 23 November 2011.  In attendance were Alan Gittins and Emma Wilde, Partners from the Commercial and Agricultural department, Senior Solicitor Caroline Yorke from the Matrimonial department and Kate Lawson Assistant Solicitor from the Private Client department, all of whom are based at the Oswestry office of Lanyon Bowdler.

The aim for the day was to provide advice as to the various routes into the legal profession and the options available to pupils wishing to pursue a career in the law.  For those keen on finding out more the convention provided an opportunity to seek the opinions of local solicitors regarding matters such as what A levels to take, what grades are required, which universities have a good reputation for law degrees and where the Legal Practice Course can be completed.  Other popular questions were how to obtain a training contract and what salary to expect.  Lanyon Bowdler are keen to support pupils who are interested in pursuing a career in law and regularly offer work experience places which allow pupils to gain an insight into the profession.

In addition to the careers advice offered on the day, staff were also armed with Lanyon Bowdler goodies such as pens, pencils, sweets and the infamous Lanyon Bowdler bears, which were, as always, in very high demand!
