Marathon Training and the Challenges of the Great British Weather

Only a few weeks to go until the Shrewsbury half marathon in support of Lanyon Bowdler’s chosen charities, and like all good intentions there has been a wee bit of slippage.

Recently, I have run in what can only be described as a howling wind and lashing rain, aka the great British summertime and felt …challenged.  Hey ho!  I will make up for it with a week’s training in the Lake District shortly. 

I didn’t anticipate needing thermal base layers for a summer jaunt round the Quarry, but at least the champers will be chilled by the time I crawl over the finish line…
