New Talent at Young Enterprise Scheme

Keen to give young people a chance to experience the challenges and rewards of running their own business, I have again volunteered to be a business adviser to a Young Enterprise company.

This involves attending the weekly board meetings held by the students who run the company to provide guidance and encouragement.  This year’s programme is being run at Idsall School near Shifnal, Shropshire,  and has had a really promising start.  Of the five Young Enterprise companies established by Idsall School this year, I am mentoring a company called Just4U! which has decided to make and sell personalised products.  The students are eager and talented, and I’m certain they will make a real success of their company during the course of this academic year.

It’s such a delight to watch the students develop not just their understanding of business but also their personal and social skills in a business environment.
