Safer Environments for Patients Considering Cosmetic Surgery

Following the PIP breast implant scandal, measures are now being considered to provide safer environments for patients considering cosmetic surgery. A public consultation recently took place showing strong support for the ban of cut price deals on cosmetic surgery. It is argued that price is being put before quality and this needs to stop. The Director of Independent Healthcare Advisory Services stated that initial consultations should take place with a medical professional, not a sales person and the patient should be made aware of all the potential risks and not pressured into a decision by being offered time limited deals.
