Peter bids farewell, with members of his family team behind him

Peter was the senior partner at the firm and is a respected figure in the town - he practiced family law throughout his career and is known for being a highly regarded mediator.

He has stepped aside after 49 years with the firm and has passed on the senior partner role to the head of the commercial property team in Shrewsbury, Andrew Evans.

A Privilege

Peter said: “It has been a privilege for me to have served as Lanyon Bowdler’s senior partner for the past eight years.

“It has been the culmination of my career in the law, and I shall always be grateful for the support which I have received from my fellow partners and from the staff of the firm.

“Lanyon Bowdler has expanded to a remarkable degree since 2006, both geographically and in terms of personnel, but we have never been deflected from our objective of providing caring and efficient advice and representation to all our clients, no matter how large or small their matter may be.

“I leave the firm content in the knowledge that the senior partner role will now pass to Andrew Evans who also has been with the firm for a number of years and whom I am sure will prove a great success in the position.”

Peter is an active member of the Shrewsbury community and will continue to serve as chairman of the St Chad’s Church development committee as well as being a member of the executive committee.

Newly-appointed Senior Partner

The newly-appointed senior partner at Lanyon Bowdler, Andrew Evans, said: “I’m looking forward to stepping up to the plate as senior partner following Peter’s retirement.

Peter Flint congratulates Andrew Evans on his appointment as senior partner

“Having spent time as a schoolboy in work experience with the predecessor firm to Lanyon Bowdler - J C H Bowdler and Sons - I was pleased to return to my home town in the late 1980s to join Lanyon Bowdler.

“To then become a partner in the firm was a wonderful reward. I feel very honoured and proud to now be appointed as senior partner and must thank my fellow partners for putting their faith in me in this post.

Hard Act to Follow

“Peter Flint is a very hard act to follow - 49 years with the same firm is an incredible achievement. He is much admired and esteemed both within and outside of our firm and I wish him well in his retirement.”
