Short-Listed for Two Birmingham Law Society Awards

I was absolutely delighted to receive emails today from Birmingham Law Society, confirming that both the firm and head of Personal Injury and partner, Neil Lorimer had been short-listed for 2010 Legal Awards.  The winners will be announced during a dinner, being held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, on 25 March.  Guests will not only enjoy seeing the winners from 10 categories picking up their awards, but will be entertained by guest speaker, Times columnist, Matthew Parris.

Lanyon Bowdler has been short-listed for Birmingham Law Society’s Law Firm of the year 5 – 15 partners’ award, and Neil has been short-listed for Private Client Solicitor of the year.

In order to be included on the short-lists, both the firm and Neil had to demonstrate not only an excellent reputation and service to clients, but a commitment to training and development of staff and colleagues, involvement with charities and the local community.

I asked our managing partner David Battisby for his reaction, he said:  “This is a tremendous start to 2010, the short-listings for both awards include some of the top Birmingham and West Midlands firms, and it is great to see us competing with them.”

Event organiser Becky Lynch, from the Birmingham Law Society also commented by saying:  “Since the inaugural event in 2001, the awards have become a permanent fixture on the legal sector calendar, with sell out crowds and record numbers of nominations year on year.  Last year’s event was one of the most successful ever, and 2010 promises to be just as good, if not better.”

It should be a great evening!
